As the former CEO of Barloworld Logistics Africa, Eric boasts extensive leadership and management skills with over 22 years’ experience in the supply chain and logistics industry. Eric has been closely involved with the redesign and implementation of some of South Africa’s largest Supply Chain networks. Eric is passionate about the design, implementation and management of transportation management solutions. He believes that the industry still has some way to go before it can reach its full potential and that technology has a huge role to play in optimising transport networks.
Carsten started his career in the construction industry working as a National Account Manager at PPC Cement followed by a position as Marketing & Sales Director at Concor Technicrete. He then joined Barloworld Logistics as a Supply Chain Executive responsible for the development of marketing and key account management strategies. Carsten has over 15 years integrated supply chain management experience and has managed clients such as Illovo Sugar, PPC Cement, Corobrik, Nike and Unilever.
Neil has over 15 years’ experience in project management and solution implementations in the supply chain and logistics industry. Neil has been closely involved in the implementation of a number of Transport Management Systems across various industry groups. Following various logistics-related positions within AECI and Barloworld Logistics, and some time spent as a management consultant at Accenture, Neil joined Transnova to lead the Pre-Sales and Implementation teams of the business.
Tim is the General Manager at Business Modelling Associates with significant experience in supply chain planning, modelling and optimisation. Tim was previously part of the supply chain leadership team at Deloitte Strategy Consulting and held various supply chain roles at The South African Breweries. He graduated with a Masters Degree in Operations Research (with distinction) from UCT, while helping set up FoodForward SA. Areas of specialisation include predictive and prescriptive analytics, supply chain network design and optimisation, supply chain strategy, sales and operations planning, inventory optimisation, transport optimisation, machine learning, statistical modelling and mixed integer programming.
Erika is a passionate supply chain practitioner with more than 10 years’ of industry experience. She holds a BEng (Ind) from the University of Pretoria and is currently pursuing her Master’s degree through the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS). Erika heads up network design and modelling at BMA and has extensive experience in supply chain design and network modelling using various tools e.g. the LLamasoft suite of supply chain design software. She was fortunate to be one of the first people in South Africa to be trained on the LLamasoft software and has been privileged to bear witness to the growth of this industry leader. Erika’s strengths and interests include: network design, network optimisation, inventory optimisation, training and mentorship, AI and public speaking.
Mark has over 8 years’ experience in the cash supply chain industry having been part of the core design and delivery team of the South African industry Cash Management Platform (Cashlogix). The role includes the requirement to interfacing with industry parties, suppliers and vendors. Mark successfully managed the integration of Cashlogix with ICMS and the South African Reserve Banks iNCMS systems. His strengths include deep understanding of the cash supply chain, with a key focus on process design, system design, system integration and implementation.
